America has been building up to what it is today since the late 1700's. It is home to many different religions, cultures, and people. If America is everyone's home, why do we fight within our home? The author of this section of Citizenship Now wants us to know that no matter how many differences us americans have, we all still live in one place; America.
It seems like we [Americans] only come together and stand united when there is a national crisis. Why cant we stand united without something tragic happening to us? I agree with the author of this passage for more then the obvious reason of it being right but because we all need to see others as being equal no matter what the differences are between us. It is stated in the American Declaration of Indepence that all men are created equal. We need to start going by what that small sentence states. "United We Stand"

Some of my best work people. lol
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more! It is about time someone stood up and said what everyone needed to hear. Now if only the world could hear it, and actually listen :). This was a great article; a lot of people chose this one to write about. However, your blog is the only one I have read that makes me glad that there are other people out there who aren't so close-minded. Thank you for speaking out. More people need to not be afraid of that. You are a great writer. You are able to put together your opinions extremely well. I tend to blabber and ramble when I have strong opinions about something. I will have to try and learn from you. :)
